I'm in a haze from watching "Fast Food Nation".
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0460792/ Not that anything in it is any news -- but it definitely brings it home and makes things more personal. It's the US angle of things, the greed, the money-making machine, the entire "corporate" culture as I've experienced it in other fields. Soulless greed, no regard for people. I won't claim this or similar isn't going on elsewhere in the world but this country clearly takes it to its highest heights, or lowest lows, and it's disgusting.
As for the film itself -- it was based on the book {which I haven't read yet}. They chose to make it a fictional account rather than a documentary. I have my own theories as to why this was done and they include pressure from the powers that be, fear of being sued in this crazy country and the like. When it's about the almighty $$$$$$$$$, mafia methods *will* be applied in a heartbeat and that's no secret. Overall, I think the film is still effective for those with some brains and an open mind. People who realize this isn't just some "movie" to entertain their shrinking brains.
I just googled and found this article. Like McDonald's fries? Read it.
