143. Munich 3/5
- so overrated, so "Hollywood", Spielberg's just passe

142. The Tunnel 5/5
- interesting German film about the WALL & life in East/West Berlin in 60's/DDR days

141. Don't Move 5/5
- very unusual and refreshing Spanish-Italian film set in Italy, love triangle, Penelope Cruz ugly, poetic yet brutally honest, cultural insights, loved this

140. Thumbsucker 4/5
- family dynamics, ADD, drugs, shrinks, psychobabble, good look at the insanity that is taking place these days with kids getting "diagnosed" with some "disorder"

139. Carol's Journey 3/5
- small Spanish film, I thought it was just average

138. The Baxter 4/5
- funny, cute, funky & geeky-sweet, kept me interested, not your usual "romantic comedy" coming out of Hollywood

137. The Squid and the Whale 3/5
- lol, they tried reeeeeeeeeeeal hard to make a european film.. didn't quite work but at least it wasn't horrible. unlikeable characters, early 80's look

136. Water 4/5
- Indian, #3 of THE trilogy & not as good as the first 2, watch EARTH or FIRE instead, then this one, visually amazing as usual, good storytelling but the fact that they used non-Indian actor/model people for the main characters is ridiculous to me

135. Junebug 3/5
- unusual romp set in rural American South, culture clash, Southern family of husband meets & Brit-in-Chicgo art dealer wife, had funny moments but ultimately pointless

134. The NeverEnding Story 4/5
- German-made nostalgia trip from my childhood, one of the few fantasy films I can watch, the attic scenes are priceless

133. Heights 3/5
- *shrug* total average, what were they thinking? what was the point?

132. The Biggest Loser: The Workout 3/5
- fairly motivational in the diet kickstart way and that was the sole purpose

131. Empire Falls: Disc2 2/5
- like a silly soap opera with all-star cast...

130. Empire Falls: Disc1 2/5
- ... some nice visuals, especially the flashbacks but eh?

129. Lila Says 4/5
- beautiful & sexy french girl seduces Arab/Muslim guy, French film

128. Balzac & the Little Chinese Seamstress 5/5
- Chinese, stunningly beautiful scenery and people, great storytelling, this one really blew me away and I bought it

127. The Celebration 1/5
- complete and utter mess of Lars Von Trier-style "dogme" weirdness that I hated on all levels, Danish

126. My Summer of Love 5/5
- British, beautifully shot, lyrical about the friendship/relationship of 2 girls and 1 summer spent together, great visuals, good story

125. The Woodsman 4/5
- interesting subject, child abuser post prison tries to rehabilitate and re-establish himself in the world, interesting look at the other side of the whole thing we usually don't get to see

moi, life, film
