Yes, even though in coastal Southern CA it's often overcast until noon, then sunny and perfect blue skies within minutes. That's almost a daily thing really by the beaches. In Northern Cali they generally have more rainy/foggy/overcast days, and inland it's generally sunshine, period. Sometime you have perfect sunshine 5 or 10 miles from the beach while everything is still in fog and mist down there. It's interesting.

You *are* a dying breed for sure. It seems like most anyone here moved from someplace else. Europe just has a completely different vibe.

I lived in Long Beach for a little over a month and absolutely hated it. My weekend in L.A. was worse, MacArthur Park is hell on Earth. I didn't meet one good person in Cali, and the only place worth living on the West Coast is the Pacific NW, even though serial killers come from there. But serial killers in CA are worse. I prefer the East Coast, Statesly speaking, but I wouldn't be against returning to Cali with an awesome person to do awesome things.

Yeah, I don't like Long Beach either, wouldn't want to live there. Has a weird vibe to it and it's too busy for my taste with the harbour and all. Downtown LA, I only go for Chinatown anyway... Nobody really lives there. {Even though they've rather successfully revived parts of it for the yuppie types to live in, it's kind of trendy right now -- but not my scene either}. I like the more laid-back beachy areas by the ocean with some nature around. It's where the tourists never go either. ;o)
