customer: The Internet runs TEN times faster on the PS3!
myself: Uh, I'm sorry. No it doesn't.
customer: Yes it does! The Internet Runs ten times faster on the PS3! That's what it has over the X360.
myself: Both the Xbox360 and PS3 have standard networking equipment and connect with standard Ethernet cable. It will run at the speed of your Internet service.
customer: No, that's not right! The Internet runs ten times faster on the PS3! I know this because my computer only has *insert unintelligible number* ram, but my buddy, his computer has *insert unintelligible number* ram and his computer smokes mine! THE MORE RAM YA GOT THE BETTER!
myself:.... do you know how the Internet works?
customer: YES!
myself:........
customer:..........
myself: The PS3 uses standard networking equipment with a RJ45 Ethernet cable to network. You can only go as fast as your Internet service provider allows. Your Internet speed will go as fast as that no matter which system you're using.
customer: You can tell that to a billy goat and he'll kick your face in!
myself:..........
I then proceeded to go into cores, GPUs and other wonderful geek terms until I confused the poor guy into not talking sillyness anymore. But at least it wasn't as sad as the time someone said the reason why the PS3 costs so much is because it has the internet built in, and that you don't need to connect to go online.
The internets is serious business, and so is the PS3 apparently.
