Organizing and Plotting
So during my mini vacation between graduations, BBQs and weddings I pulled out the entire yarn stash and organized it as well as creating a collection for the next Nerd Wars. So first step was dumping all my yarn out in the living room. I had 3 under the bed drawers and a variety of bags and totes holding more yarn.
Having my stash out in the open for the first time in a while I realized that it really was much smaller than it used to be. And isn’t that scary. I decided I should organize by color. Yeah…I like red. So the first bin was red, black and dark brown.
The next bin was actually Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet and white. So I really like red. The third bin was filled with browns and creams and all my random WIPs. You can even see the pile of now empty bags near the red yarn that have been boxed with their brethren.
The box on the left is filled with sock yarn, and sparkle yarn and a couple in progress spinning projects. At 12 o’clock in the photo is a bag on all my acrylic yarn left over from a baby blanket or two and some cotton yarn. To its left is a bag full of the grey yarn from my dying adventure. And completely out of frame, is a bag filled with yarn for plots for next Nerd Wars and decorating the apartment for Christmas. At some point I will have to do this with the fiber. I will need to grab a couple more under the bed drawers, and more lavender and cedar to arrive.
