It could be behavioral but increased hunger is a sign of Cushing's and could also explain the behavior. Brinkley makes no secret at checking out the garbage can. FWIW, endocrine problems sometimes cluster. Or she could have an operable adrenal tumor & removal could clear it up entirely. Or it could also be something else entirely. If all they looked at was the urine, I wouldn't feel comfortable that they'd done a proper check.

My last dog had hypothyroidism that wasn't found until after he went deaf so I'm hypervigilant now about having the vet look at blood panels every year. I'm also hypervigilant about behavioral changes that get written off to age after a bad experience where my dog's whining was written off by the visiting vet to senility only to discover 3 weeks later he had bone cancer. I'm paranoid now. :)

ETA: I don't mean to be alarmist - I just realized this all sounds like such a downer - I just wanted to say that it's *possible* the behavior has a physical cause. You know her and whether this is entirely within her character to be difficult. I worry because a lot of Cushing's dogs get euthanized as people rightfully want their dogs not to pee on the indoor floors. Whatever the cause, I hope you find it soon and that it's fixable. *hugs* /ETA

Gleeful Dean is a thing of beauty, especially in his hat. I think we should pass a law that says Jensen must always wear a cowboy hat for the rest of his life. *nods* Such a pretty, pretty man.

I have made a couple icons from the episode, but I'm waiting for someone w/ SKILLS to make Dean-in-a-hat icon w/ good lighting and everything. ;)

Piper just had blood tests again at her check-up a month ago. She's TERRIBLE to get blood from, and we had to do it twice! I almost cried. I felt so terrible for her. But at any rate, she did just have blood tests and we adjusted her medication. Everything she's been doing lately -- the begging for food, the drinking, the pissing -- she has always done. She's just ramped up all her behavior. We'll monitor her for a bit more and see if it ramps up even more. Thanks for all your advice and things to look out for. It's not paranoid at all b/c bad stuff can grow from tiny things. We must be vigilant -- it's not like they can talk to us and tell us what's wrong.
