TMS Madrid - Day 1 - 13th October 2008
Yay tennis finally, so we went to a coffee shop this morning and then caught the metro to the Madrid Arena. I went to got my tickets and they say "oh no you need to be in the other queue" *head desk* Go to the other queue and the lady only gives me tickets for tuesday night, when I have more than that, so after a convo in spanglish and some hand-waving we finally understand each other, hahaha.
Went inside and met Yvonne who was waiting for us and we went to see who was practising, first we saw Davydenko, then we spied Fernando Verdasco walking to Cibeles practise court and we walked over to that one, we were up stairs and when we got there Fabio Fognini, David Ferrer and Feliciano Lopez were on it. Nando & Feli where hitting with each other and David & Fabio on teh pther part.
We moved downstairs and watched them also to get autographs if we could, you are never sure which way they will leave the courts :S Fabio came off first so Kian got his autograph, then David followed, was trying to get a picture with Kian but when there were 10 million (ok slight exageration) fighting aswell it was not gonna happen.
Ok so then we got some food, oh I got a picture of Philip Kholschriber aswell (sandra, is that spelling correct, por favor ??) and then we saw the Murray/Murray doubles match had finished, so that meant Feli & Nado would be on court for their doubles match against Fernando Gonzalez (RHCG) & the german dude who's name I forgot right now *sorry*
Trying to take pictures whilst eating a salad is not easy, but I did it jajajaja. So Feli & Nando won, RHGC got rather made with a lines judge who called against him, so he just stood there staring at him and threw his racket. Then the next time the kines judge called a correct call for him, Gonzo applauded him, the he started bouncung his racket like a ball and smiling at the umpire *crazy guy*
We went to centre court for Rafa & Carlos v Fish & Blake, i think I had Carlos' family at the side of me for a few minutes until they realised they were in the wrong seats and moved. So finally they won and I had got a text on my phone to say Canas was practising, so I met Yvonne and said "practice courts, now, we need to go, Canas is there" She made him a book, its dead excellent and wanted to get it to him, my friend Ana is working on the players desk in the afternoon and said she would help. We got there and he had been practising for maybe 30mins and she said she would come back near to the end of his session and get him......30mins later, now Pico and Mariano Zabaeta have arrived and they continue to practise. Pico v Canas.......30mins........1 hour.......2 hours later Canas finishes and then Ana got him and Yvonne gave him her book, and also he signed the copy she has for herself, he was really happy about the gift and also they made a picture together.
Ok so now I am waiting for Pico, he is playing against Mariano...........24hrs later they finish, I text Ana and she comes back, but oh no Pico is stretching and Mariano decides to film Gael Monfils on the next court for Tenis Pro *yay its back*.......finally Pico comes off court with Mariano. Mariano signs my Argentinian flag (Canas did aswell) and then Pico comes out and signs my flag, but starts to walk away then Ana tells him its me who wants the picture and so he obliges, yay yay yay yay ok so now I cannot say anything other than "thanks" dead happily and he goes "ok" and smiles *faint*
And then they are stood laughing at Mariano signing all these autographs and having his picture taken with so many girls :)
erm so thats about it, I have missed things out I am sure and I will post a few pics here for now as it is late and I NEED SLEEP !!
