I have a selfish grandmother - she has never cared for her children or grandchildren any further than what they can buy for her. In my case, now that her husband has died, she's constantly out at functions, dinner etc and brags about it and her favourite son & his children. That and she likes trying to pit her sons against each other. We saw her on christmas day (first for christmas and first time in 6 years) and she was all "you are my favourite grandchild. What's your name again?" to one of my sisters. She honestly had no idea who we were or how old we were - nothing at all. Amusingly since I have out of my three siblings one of my sisters and myself are the oldest grandchildren - on both sides. Luckily she lives in another state and I only see her once in a blue moon ( ... )

Good to hear you have a Gran that is caring about her family. I don't know which one is worse here though; my Gran who is pretty much lies about what's wrong with her; or the Gran who pretty much feed her bloody parrot chicken....
