Australia day
yesterday was incredibly boring and not fun at all. the morning i spent filling cracks in the back veranda with cement with my mum. i THOUGHT i was going to meet my friends at about 4.30, but then it turned out that mum had a student coming then that she'd forgotten about, so i got there at 5.30. i was looking forward to a fun and exciting evening but in the end nothing interesting happened. luke's leg was all screwy cause he fell off his bike so we walked slowly to matilda bay, and when we got there we sat around for ages trying to work out where everyone else was. some time much later sarah and rod and people turned up, but not before keegan and i went looking for the first aid tent to get help for luke. we poked our heads in the only gap in the fencing and waved to a policeman standing there for assistance, and he looked at us and said
"nup."
ok. so obviously the purpose of a first aid tent is not to offer first aid at all, but is just a place for the policemen to stand around and drink confiscated alcohol while sick and injured people wait in pain.
eventually we managed to find a nurse and she and another nurse came and bandaged luke up.
when we got back, rod and sarah and rod's friends had turned up and so we went and found a place to sit and watch the fireworks (which, by the way, were incredicbly sucky). stu, or stew, or however you spell his name, was really annoying and spent the whole time complaining that he didn't have enough to drink (which quite obviously was not true at all) and saying annoying things about everything.
after the fireworks we tried to walk back to tom's, but by the luke's foot/ankle/whatever was hurting too much so we sat in the university for aaaages waiting for carey to come and pick him up. by then i was feeling pretty shit and just wanted some space, but stew and aaron kept following me around and that was really annoying.
once we left the uni, we started walking back to tom's and at some point on the way, dure called up and invited herself to a party that stew had just arranged at his house. so we arrived at tom's and kate's mum picked me and kate up while the others sat around and waited for dure to turn up. and that is my story.
the only thing i enjoyed about the whole night was that i didn't have to eat dinner.
