I bought a copy of Sylvia Plath's Collected Poems yesterday at a thrift store (25 cents, Goodwill Central Ave.).  The name on the title page is "Jane Marie Satterfield."  As I almost always do with poetry books I've bought, I googled her.  I think I've found her.  She is a poet and critic of minor repute, and lives in Baltimore, MD, like me ( Read more... )

Great voice, but not the one I had in my head when previously reading his poems.

April is "National Poetry Month," as designated by the Academy of American Poets.  Every year I get a poster in the mail proclaiming said event, and every year I immediately deposit said poster in the nearest trash receptacle.  They have been awful.  But not this year: this year's is perfection:
