(A courier message from the fray)

Hello my fellow LJ'ers!

I apologise I cannot be there to send you this message in person, but the past few days in the field have been madness.

My new job started yesterday. I walked in, and was told by my superior I was not to be the assistant...I was to be the replacement. My supervisor had tendered her resignation.

The both of us were given four months to have me trained to fully replace her as head of the department. This is an enormous challenge, and not a small bit intimidating. But I'm psyched up, armed and ready.

Which brings me to the reason why I cannot be there to tell you this... It's been flat out since I got to the fort. We dove straight in to learning to work the war machines as soon as I got there.

This is what I always wanted, but this is some intense stuff! And the pressure is always present.

I think I'm going to have to take a few pages from Sparrow's meditation and mind-reframing tricks if I'm going to survive this.

As always, your humble serpent.
