This is my last dance with you,
this is my only chance to do all I can do
to let you know that what I feel for you is real.
Liyin took her best friend's hand - she promised to save him a dance before the night ended. She was never a fan of fancy parties, it was Junsu who persuaded her to come. He needed a companion - and an excuse to refuse the other girls who have been asking him to come with them.

For days, girls have so aggressively asked him -
"Junsu-sshi, please come with me to the dance!"
"Oppa~~~ Come to the dance with me? :)"
"JUNSU!!! PLEASE PLEASE COME WITH ME! I'LL DIE IF YOU REFUSE ME!"
Some people never get it, do they?

Junsu sighed and scoffed at the memory, all he wanted was to come with his best friend - after all, it'll probably be their last meeting in a while. Liyin is leaving for Canada in two days.

"Junsu-ah, I'll miss you."

Junsu held unto Liyin's hand tighter.
This is the last chance for us,
this is the moment that I just can't end -
before I know that there's a chance we're more than friends."I'll do too," he said, almost in a whisper.

So don't let go - make it last all night.
This is my last chance to make you mine.
The both of them were silent. They couldn't look at each other. Maybe the song was too honest.

"Promise to write me when you get there? Don't forget about me!"

She laughed at her best friend's worries. "How can I not write to you? There's the internet after all." She smiled, adding, "... There's no forgetting you."

He looked at her, but her eyes were glued to the floor. It was his turn to laugh. "There's no forgetting you, either."

I kept my feelings so deep,
I kept my dreams of you and me somewhere inside -
although I prayed that you would see it in my eyes. The image of Junsu crying over his pet hamster's death made Liyin laugh.

"What's so funny?"

"Remember the hamster that died? You cried so much! You called me in the middle of the night just to tell me. I remember dozing off after your first few minutes of bawling." They both laughed.

"Hey! Not fair! That hamster was a gift from my neighbor! I used to like that girl!" There was an emphasis on 'used to'.

"No need to be defensive," she smirked, "I'm just saying. Who will you call in the middle of the night to report silly things like those?"

"I didn't find it silly when you called me up to cry over Siwon liking another girl." She looked at him, he's right, there'll be no Junsu to comfort her.

But this is my last chance to say
what's in my heart before you fade out of my life,
and then you''ll understand the way I feel inside.
The party's about to end, and the last song is nearing a close.

"Canada is a far place, you know. Can you manage without me?" Junsu smiled half-heartedly.

"I will, I think. It's not like there's no way of talking to you. It's the 21st century for crying out loud."

"Don't miss me too much."

"Yah! I should be the one saying that."

"You wish." They laughed a little too loud this time - since it was a slow song - they got hushes and stares from the other couples in the dance floor.

So hold me close, cause it feels so right.
This is my last chance to make you mine.
"Liyin-ah ..."

"Hm?"

"Your head is heavy." It was true, she had placed her head on his shoulder comfortably.

She didn't answer.

She was fighting her tears.

Make this dream reality,
so close and yet so far,
gotta find a way into your heart.
"Liyin-ah, do you remember the day Siwon came to class with a bruised face?"

"You didn't have to do that you know."

Junsu was taken aback. "You knew?"

"Of course. You sounded serious when you told me over the phone that you'll make him pay for making me cry. I didn't think you'd go through with it, but seeing Siwon avoiding you days after my phone call, I knew it was you."

Junsu sighed.

"Liyin-ah ..."

"... Stop making it harder for me to say goodbye."

Gotta speak my mind, gotta open up to you this time.
I can't let you slip away tonight.
He let go of her hands and hugged her - tight.

"Junsu, you're choking me!" She wriggled in his arms.

"I'm sorry."

She stopped moving and hugged him back.

She started crying. "I warned you not to make it harder for me to say goodbye."

In the dark dance floor, couples were already nuzzling each other. It made the both of them uncomfortable.

He led her back to their table.

He took something from his coat's pocket.

This is my last dance with you,
this is my only chance to do all I can do
to let you know that what I feel for you is so real.Junsu returned Liyin's notebook under the pile of school books.

"Junsu! Mom said you're here!"

"I am."

"Yah, are you looking through my stuff?"

"No! No, I was just ... about to get your book and copy the algebra assignment!" He said, grabbing the first book he could from the pile.

Liyin eyed her notebook from under the pile. She grabbed it.

"Aish!"

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing. Let's go out and eat ice cream!"

Liyin led Junsu out of her bedroom. She didn't want him to see what was inside that notebook.

So don't let go, just make it last for all night long. She looked confused. He looked like he was about to cry.

He took the shiny material out of the box and looked at her.

"See? I got this for you."

He took her wrist and placed it over and locked the clamp.

"So everyday you'll be reminded there's someone waiting for you back home."

She ran her hand over the boy charm.

"Junsu." She read.

"See, the girl charm is with me!" He smiled the smile that made her heart race. "Liyin."

This is my last chance to make you mine.
"Don't."

"I won't. When you're back, that'll be the time."

"Can you wait that long?"

"I can."

The last line of the song echoed in the dance floor.

The lights have turned on.

Her  face was stained with tears, so as with her best friend, sitting beside her, holding her hand tight.

"Let's go home."

"I'll see you off before you leave for Canada."

Indeed it was time to go.

---
5 years later, they both graduated from University. She an arts major while he a music major.

He excitedly went to the airport - it was time.

She glanced over her watch nervously, while placing her hand over the charm bracelet.

"Liyin-ah ..."

She remembered that voice so well.

He ran up to hug her.

"I missed you."

"You too."

With not a moment to spare, he broke free from their hug to kiss her.

---

"What was so secret about that notebook that you didn't want me to see it?"

"Nothing." She blushed.

But he knew what she meant. He felt the same.

"I do, too."

"What?"

"Nothing." He said, as he slipped his hands over hers.

To make you mine.
