Extreme Randomness
1. Since I work at a church affiliated with the chaplain's office at Penn, I now have a spiffy new Penn Card that says "Chaplain's Office" on it and I can use it at the university libraries and to ride the campus shuttles and buses for free. I just need to find out how far north the shuttles run on the east side of the river. The website addressing this issue is woefully unforthcoming about that.
2. Good writing progress today: 1439 words of Animal Control, Chapter 24. Yesterday I did 1365, so the chapter is over 2800 words already, after just two days of writing it. I've also managed to edit another even-numbered chapter today (I've finished Chapter 14 now) and to type another five handwritten pages of Chapter 20.
3. We're letting the cats into the dining room because we've seen another mouse. We don't usually have them in there because that's where we eat, but that's presumably why the mouse is in there, so we're hoping that they either take care of the mouse problem (they've been rather impressive about this in the past) or at least scare it into the kitchen, where I've caught a fair number of mice with glue traps (which I don't want to have around the cats so that they don't get their paws attached to the glue). This morning MacAindra completely panicked when I closed the door to the hall, feeling trapped in the dining room (I didn't realize she was still in there) and she tried to leap THROUGH one of the panes of glass in the door to get out! Poor silly kitty. She's still enormously cute, probably even more so when she's trying to defy the laws of physics. ;)
4. Time to shut down the computer now and watch another episode of Entourage; we got the first disk of the first season through Netflix and saw the pilot last night. Chris and I agree that it feels very authentic. Plus, after just seeing one show, we really want to know what happens next to all of these guys. That's the mark of a good pilot.
5. Church Ice Cream Social tomorrow. Like I need more ice cream? :sigh: I'll go to socialize, anyway. If I go to the gym in the morning I can feel virtuous about having a little ice cream, too.
