Matilda Village is an old rundown neighborhood that has long since been abandoned for a good thirty years from it's original owners.

In recent years it's been converted to resemble a small town in Iraq. A perfect training ground for US Marines who are to deploy to the region within a month or even in just a few weeks.

I LOVED reading that! I've always had a thing for bad boys heheh.

Question: I always understood that one faced eastward or toward Mecca when the call to prayer was answered. You meantioned facing the nearest speaker so I am wondering how that works.

I believe Muslims do face East, but sometimes I wonder is Mecca always to the East? What if it's towards the West? When I do it and as do many others we face towards the Mosque. It just feels more natural seeing that's where the prayer is coming from.

I'm glad to hear that you seem to be enjoying yourself. I'm even happier to hear that they stopped using MILES gear there and switched to Sim-unitions.

When I was there it took almost a whole day of training to issue out MILES and then we didn't even turn the stupid stuff on!

but I'm working on my Arabic to make the situation more realistic for the soldiers.

The army is training there as well?!?! Or generic term?
