Why is it... that in a chapter tiled "Itachi & Sasuke" do we learn more about Naruto than ever before? I mean we finally have proof that Naruto is Yondaime's kid. Here I am thinking that finally we're going to get into the fight we've all been waiting for and instead we learn that Naruto looks like his dad but acts like his mom and just. Fucking hell, man.
I have to say I was shocked, if ever I expected them to tell us any of this information about Naruto's parents, now would not have even registered as a possible time for it to be told.
Kishimoto, I have a new respect for you. Damn, that was good.
Uzumaki Naruto is the child of Namikaze Minato and Uzumaki Kushina. Anyone know why he has his mom's surname instead of his father's? I'll bet there is a story there.
*sigh*
And, now that they've given us a bite it will be aaaaaages until we find out anything more. How about a flashback a la Kakashi Gaiden? (Alternately, what do you think the odds of getting a Kakashi Gaiden movie? What are the odds of it being a movie vs. anime, hm? )
ALSO. Jiraiya thinks of Naru-kun as he would a grandson... AWWWWWW~ ;______;
And a final note on the Naruto parent bit of this chapter? Why do you think they never told Naruto about his parents? Don't you think he would like to know? I mean, he grew up alone not knowing anything about where he came from and he doesn't even know his father was the Fourth? I mean, that's just a little bit fucked, don't you think? How soon do you think it will be till they tell him/he finds out? Think it will ever even happen? Hmm, I'm not even sure.
Now, my only comment on the Itachi vs. Sasuke fight is that there wasn't much of one. Itachi let Sasuke get off a few hits but that means nothing. Obviously something is going on, because I'm not sure why there was a need for a change of venue.

In other manga news, this week's Bleach was boring. It was another build-up-before-any-actual-action-goes-down chapter. That being said, I have high hopes for next week's.
