[Someone's breathing hard in the feed, as if they just got the fright of their life. They're taking slow, regular breaths to calm down. In the background something bubbles softly, making noises. The hiss of steam is regular.]
... gosh. Wow. I led a pretty interesting life.
What now?
[A ruffling of pages as Al's breathing continues to calm down.]

How...how are you doing, Al?
[Negi smiles, but he's still obviously pretty achy. There's quite a bit of bruising just under his shirt collar, too.]

I'm fine, just been exploring. Tea's almost ready, I'll bring it up. It's about time to change your bandages, okay?
I'll tell you more when I head up.

O-okay! I'll be waiting!

I can't make the tea as well as you, so I hope it's all right. I think it's a little strong...
[Al sets the tray down on the bedside table and hands Negi a teacup and saucer so he won't have to stretch. He's also been doing most of the cooking since his mother's sick. And... Al's cooking isn't really the best. It seems most of his cooking skills had been acquired in the last year. So everyone's having a LOT of sandwiches and macaroni and cheese. Have a sandwich, Negi.]
Uhm... well, I found some things I left myself. Daxter said I was the type to keep secrets, and boy was he ever right.
I wrote myself some letters in case I ever lost my memories like this... and I have journals I've written about the people I know, and suspicious people.
Some of it, I wonder how I ever slept at night.

Oh, it should be alright. Sometimes I like my tea strong.
[He takes the cup and saucer from Al, glad that he didn't have to strain too much to grab it. It was amazing, the muscles you never realized you used until they were injured. And although Al's cooking might not be that great, Negi would never complain. He takes the sandwich gratefully, setting it on his outstretched legs, just above the saucer.]That...sounds like you, all right. You never did tell me much about what you were doing, but you did mention a method of keeping tabs on people. I've been working on a similar method, myself, and I would show you if I had my magic ( ... )

... it's so strange, hearing about myself like this.
[The insomnia thing makes him frown and blink a little.]
Really...? That's so strange, I haven't had trouble sleeping at all...!

Well, you never told me if there was a reason for your insomnia, so I don't know...but it must have been something that happened to you here, if you're not experiencing it now.

... I wonder what happened to me here, then.

You didn't leave any notes for yourself? I-I wish I could help, but...I've only been here for three months, and whatever it was, it happened before I arrived.
