[Al, laying on his stomach on his bed, towel wrapped around his waist, hair down, is snuggling Kitty. The nearly full-grown white cat nips playfully at him, pawing at his face but never putting out her claws. Her tail flicks the air and she mews.]
Got your ears --
[Al playfully blows a puff of air into Kitty's ear. The cat shakes her head, flicks her ear and meows. Al does it again, getting a several bats in the face, and he collapses giggling, hiding his face in his arms.]
You gonna say "happy birthday, Al?" No?

[The cat purrs loudly as Al rubs her under the chin. He grins.]
That surprise party sure was fun... it's been a long time since we've actually celebrated my birthday with a party.
[Al stretches, then rolls onto his back, arching like a cat. He's finally toned up and gained a healthy weight, a far cry from malnourished boy that couldn't walk nine months ago. And... well, he looks pretty good.
The towel stays in place, and he seems content. The cat curls up on his stomach, and he ends up falling fast asleep in the sunshine coming from the window.]
