Take me to your king.

She’s still too young.
Papa came back and he swore that things would change, but some things stay the same, like time, there's always time.
And I know I make you cry, I know sometimes you want to die, but do you really feel alive, without me? If so be free, if not leave him for me, before one of us has accidental babies.
And would you hate me so good that you would let me out, let me out, let me out.
Come all ye lost, dive into moss, and hope that my sanity covers the cost to remove the stain of my love on paper maché. Come all ye reborn, blow off my horn, I'm driving real hard, this is love, this is porn, God will forgive me, but I, I whip myself in scorn, scorn, and I want to hear, what you have to say about me, hear, if you're going to live without me.
We could make babies, and accidental songs.
Courage, teach me to be shy.
Got a wolf to keep her warm, when he comes over.
This has got to lie down with someone else on top.

BellX1 had its ups and downs, not a band I'd go out of my way to see, but when they're on stage they're alright, for the most part.

Damien started with The Professor & La Fille Danse, and I loved the extended French part at the end. Lisa Hannigan wasn't there, which was a real disappointment, and although Vivienne Long was, she didn't sing. Except for her own song, Random Man On The Motorway, which was so very cool - Damien went offstage so she could do that one with another woman and some guy they'd beaten into being a backup singer for them (or so he said). She had a sweet English accent, and a voice that made us smile, and she was wavering a little at first, explaining what the song was about, so the guy jumped in and saved her by telling us how they'd beat him for three hours to get him to perform with them today. :) And the song was cool - everyone was laughing, and applauding, and at some point Vivienne and that guy were talking and joking, and yes, :) :).

I really liked Baby Sister.

And then it was Joe's birthday, so when Damien told us that we spontaneously began to sing to him, so he got a Lang zal hij leven (Happy birthday) from the entire audience. And a cake onstage, and a bottle of champagne which he opened and it splashed all over the equipment - you could see those roadies with the towels think "fuck, fuck, fuck, he's not going - oh, FUCK, he did that".

And then Damien began Cheers, Darlin'. :)

9 Crimes doesn't sound as good when it's just one man singing it all.

16 songs from the three albums, two or three that weren't on any album, and then that one song by Vivienne - Damien Rice performed for two and a half hours, which is a long time. It was nearly midnight by the time we got in the car, Jasmijn and I.

music, personal, concert, damien rice, jasmijn
