Malcolm Merlyn and PETS, aka: Dark Empress and Bloodsong unwittingly plot the Dark Archer’s Doom.
So, aside from mad speculation about who is manipulating whom in season 3 of Arrow and furiously trying to make our Brains obedient to work on our respective Arrow fanfics, Bloodsong and I have been loosely chatting about stuff concerning our all-favourite character, Malcolm Merlyn.
Recently - our Brains must be somehow getting into major sync, because we both simultaneously arrived at the same topic - what if Malcolm had a PET?
If you read any of our fics or messages, you’ll know: we have very unruly Brains that do stuff regardless of our own will. Which results in a lot of hilariousness.
The latest:
So, Bloodsong hits me with the pet question in a PM, then we meet on chat.
I try to come up with some Malcolm Merlyn-worthy ideas, while both our Brains clearly work in their own mysterious ways.
Bloodsong:(comes up with a pet idea that cannot be mentioned here for now)
Dark Empress: Whaaaaaaat? (then, after a few moments of recovery:) Malcolm Merlyn having a pet.. ummmm possible. I dunno, a dog, a cat perhaps? (Dark Empress' Brain hits crazy zone:) Or a friggin parrot for all I know!”
Dark Empress (with evil excitement): “Bloodsong, imagine Malcolm getting a parrot, not knowing it’s a kind that can learn how to speak!”
Bloodsong, at the same time: ”No, not a parrot! These things can repeat stuff!”
Dark Empress (with even more excitement): "Exactly"
Resultant scene:

Arrow Season 1 universe. Detective Lance gets warned by the Vigilante that Malcolm Merlyn has a plan to level the Glades, codename ‘Undertaking’.
He goes to Merlyn’s Penthouse to question him about it. Malcolm is sitting calmly at his desk, going through some files, the parrot nibbling at a snack in a cage on a nearby sidetable.
Det. Lance: Mr Merlyn, I am sorry to inconvenience you, I am sure this is nothing, but as an officer of the law, I have to follow every lead. Some serious accusations have been made against you by the man known as the Vigilante - he claims you concocted a plan to destroy the Glades, called…”
Malcolm forces out a fake smile and takes a breath to respond…
BUT
The parrot chirps from its perch in the cage in a mock Dark-Archer voice: “The Undertaking! Damn that Vigilante! I will not let anything stop the Undertaking!”
Detective Lance looks sternly at Malcolm, whose smile is slowly turning into an “I’m so sc**wed” expression...
