so, birthday/labour day weekend was supah-cool, and i'm completely grateful to ALL of my awesome friends who made it so cool!
i was thrilled with the people who turned up at sir ed's to have dinner with me! i had a blast, and was pleased that the manager {owner?} working by the door was so chuffed to have had such a loud, raucous crowd making such a racket in there!

i *did* get to goto the dollah movies, and saw madagascar 3D!!! it was much more fun than i expected, due in large part to there being a total of *4* people in the theatre at 10pm for a kid's movie!

i *did not* make it back to catch men in black 3, but hopefully will this weekend... i kinda got winded by monday with all that partying...

i *also* made it to the casa de kitteh-hoots to watch DR. WHO!!! it was awesome, even tho' we all got a late start & were feeling pretty sleepy by the time we got done with everything.... but, red dragon cheese was fair nigh AWESOME!!!! and, PUMPKIN LATTES FROM THE 'BOU!!!!

at some point, mum & i went to visit with dad... who's mostly doing better, tho' it's still hard to follow some of the thought-trains. the memory isn't quite there, either....
i was glad to visit with him, though, and we stayed until the floor nurse came in to take him down the hall to lunch, then therapy.
today, mum & sis {with the smaller dog in tow} went to visit so mum could sit in on the "future care meeting" being held today. sis & charlie the australian shepherd went up to see dad while mum met with the docs, therapists & nurses.... apparently the brain seizures are still going on daily, tho' not so bad since they've got him on meds for that... and mum alerted them to the newest thing, which a couple of them already knew about: since he's doing better with the walking {sometimes} and speech {kinda}, he's pretty sure he's gonna "be outta there" any old day now....
which, sadly, noooo.....
nor is he gonna be driving again, *ever*, which he's also sure will be happening any old time now... "not long trips, but maybe just up the road to visit some buddies"...
::sigh::
but apparently he was pretty happy to see charlie! so that was cool... he's not quite up to going outside to throw the ball yet, but sis is being hopeful that will happen soon.
he seems to always remember the dog visits, but he really think that *we* - ANY of us - have only been to see him, like, THREE times in the whole 3 months now that he's been going through this...
::BIG sigh::
even if he doesn't realise we've been there, and even if he sometimes doesn't realise *who* has been there, at least he's getting better than he was, and for that i'm utterly thankful! as bad as his condition is, it could be SO much worse!
ah well,
i suppose that it is what it is, and that's what it's going to be....
here's hoping the rest of september is better & not worse!
