my brain hurts
it hurts....math is not my thing....
i got a letter about 2 months ago that said i had improperly claimed unemployment benefits from dec to june. I called the guy and he said i had defrauded the govt and owed the entire amount of the unemployment. i say i didn't know i was fucking up (fraud is defined as "a deception deliberately practiced in order to secure unfair or unlawful gain; trickery) and i should only have to pay back the amount i shouldn't have received had i been claiming correctly. They say i owe $8388.00.
i have been on Excel (well, the screwed up home version) and have made a sreadsheet that says i only owe $2566.97. it took a lot of thinking to first make the math work in my brain and then translating that to Excel and then figuring out where the right buttons are on the home version. i like my figure a lot more.
i'm sending out an appeal letter monday morning. i'll have to be on a 3-way phone call with the government.
great...i finally get a 3-way and it's with the government......couldn't be with Ken and Toby Keith, could it??????
