So my thoughts are fairly scattered right now. I just finished watching the most recent episode of Bones (it aired last night) and I am in a state of shock.
The side mystery, who killed the singer, meant nothing to me after the introduction of Fat Pam. I knew immediately that she would fixate on Booth (who wouldn't?!) and something would happen to Brennan or that she would go after Brennan. Sure enough, that's exactly what happened. Very upsetting.
Of course, as Booth is a main character and the show is really in no danger of being canceled or taken off the air it would be pointless for Booth to actually die. The draw to the show isn't Emily Deschanel; it isn't David Boreanaz. It's BOTH of them and it's the chemistry that they have together. Killing one or the other would effectively kill the show. I don't believe that either actor wants that. So, he's not going to die.
Even still, I was on the edge of my seat. I was waiting for him to tell her that he loved her. Some sort of admission of his feelings for her. I think that he knew how he really felt about her before then, but I think that he really let himself realize it, and admit it to himself at THAT moment. And I really loved how Fat Pam insisted on calling him Seely, as though it were such an intimate thing, but when he was shot Brennan kept calling him Booth and it meant way more. Also, that shot? Deadly. She was literally aiming to kill. I mean, forget shooting her knee cap out, or shooting her in the shoulder. Forget wounding her so that she could be taken into custody. Fuck all of that. She shot her in the damn throat so that she would bleed out on the floor!
Nuts. I cannot wait until next week!
