it's been many years since I had such an exemplary vegetable

Lately I've been busy writing a lot of *gasp* handwritten letters and adjusting to a new bedtime, so I haven't had any free time to spend on the internet unless I'm working -- and then it's not "free time" but actually paid time. Then I probably shouldn't be on the internet, right ( Read more... )

you want him to go to Qatar if he get's deployed... you get combat hazard pay but it's in the rear... they've got jet ski's on the beach... true story... my buddy in the chair force got it... I'm trying to go to Iraq or Afgan...military life is a weird form of existence... either you can understand it and get along with it... perhaps even like it or you'll hate it... don't think of all the negative things going on over there think of all the postive things that have happen... one of my Sgt's is a combat engineer and he's always telling us that if CNN would show the water treatment plants that clean the water that they were drinking they built... or had stories about the 3 elementary schools they rebuilt... you know their history books say that Sadam won desert storm and that kuwait is part of iraq... and if you look at the statictics your safer in Iraq then the states... we lose more Marines, Saliors, Soilders and Airman to DWI's in the states then we do to combat in the dirt... it's the lack of control in the militray people tend to hate... you get told everything esp when your a boot... I find myself saying Aye Sir and then finding ways to do the impossible more and more as my responsibility's increase... they military is a great place to grow up... opps sorry I'm rambling in your journal... you take it easy and don't worry about the things you cant control... as you've said god will figure it out and just leave it to him...

I don't understand that Qatar thing. Anyway, I just really wish he wouldn't have to get deployed. He's an HR specialist. It seems to silly to send office people over there, but hey, whatever I guess. It's not like the government is going to listen to me.

And yeah, I'm not sure if you know this or not, but my dad was Air Force. My sister was actually born just before he left for Vietnam. He missed her first 6 months as I recall. Something like that.

I know that there are positive things happening over there, but it's still scary with all the bombings, fighting and whatnot that you hear about on the news.

I didn't know their textbooks said that about Sadam and Kuwait. That's crazy.

Don't worry about "rambling" in my journal. I enjoyed it! And yes, I will try to remember not to worry about the things I can't control and that God has this.
