When did my life get so busy?

I only got into work about 50 minutes ago, but the Sky Man came and has hopefully, *fingers crossed* mended my sky service so I can actually watch TV again, and hello! get back to my daily dose of Friends. Not too sure what the new housemates are going to say about that addiction, but hey what can I do it's a need.

Having Dec and Hannah here last weekend was lovely although what I really need from a weekend now is sleeep. We went to Boscastle, Tintagel and Padstow on the Thursday when it rained pretty much constantly after about 1pm. I got entirely soaked and my shoes were sodden as I was only wearing a pair of summer pumps! Not good. Did have Rick Stein's Fish and Chips though, which were to die for. I had Coley instead of the normal Cod/Haddock and oh my word it was tasty and the chips were heaven. As was the Mustard Tartare Sauce I got with it, which had definitely been Stein-ified.

Also, we went to the Witchcraft Museum in Boscastle which was actually really interesting, there was all the general stuff about witches being burnt, hung and persecuted and then it went into, like, proper witchcraft stuff which kind of gave us the heebie-geebies. Pickled animal parts, mummified cats and poppets which definitely meant pain on the targets. It was well done though and the current owners had obviously made quite an effort to make it objective, which was quite a hard task considering the first floor was full of a witch's collection of spells (they called everyone witches, be male or female which I thought was interesting, normally they make some sort of distinction) but, yeah. Recommended but I'm not sure I want to go back, the poppets really did freak me out.

On the Saturday we were a bit lazy and went to the Cider Farm as the weather forecast was dreadful, and although it was mizzly it definitely wasn't as bad as the day before. We managed to go through the tasting section twice which was a good effort I feel and I got a bottle of the Vintage Cider for my Mum as a birthday present, as you drink it like wine, because it's still and has been soaked in a whiskey barrel I'm sure she'll love it. If not, I'm sure Edd'll polish it off!

Since they went, I've been busy tidying, clearing (I've sorted out 2 binbags of stuff to go to the charity shop and Katie's got some too) and getting ready for the new housemates. Hopefully everything will be sorted by the time Sean arrives on Friday.

I went and bought and then built a desk last night, from which I learnt the follwing things:

1) Don't go and buy and then build the desk in one evening after work. It's not fun.

2) Don't start building desks at 9 pm because then they're not finished until after 11.

3) Films are good when you're building furniture. Especially ones which contain James McAvoy, who looks really sexy in a hat (even Katie will admit that much). It was Penelope by the way which *I* loved and even doubtful Katie was glued. Ended up watching it twice cos it's only 1 hour 20 mins and the music on the menu was driving me up the wall.

And Twilight has arrived - it was sat on my desk when I arrived this morning :D lnalvgd I'll talk to you when I'm done!
