Ok, I think I've made up my mind (I think). I'm done after divemaster, 8 more dives to go (I'm tired). I love diving and thats why I don't want to make it my job, yet. I would hate to loose my love of it because it can't pay my bills, or let me travel. That doesn't change my plans of teaching it as say a retirement job or what I do with my time after I become fabulously wealthy... ^_^ Its just not time now. I'll have 60 dives when I'm done here, and when I have 100, I'll try for the dive instructor. I look forward to racking up those dives in new and exciting places. To stay sharp I have to dive at lease once a year.
Yesterday I had a morning dive, First we dove the Duane
http://www.bluewaterdiver.net/duane.htm This was my second wreck and i think its much more interesting then the Benwood. it was spooky, the still slowly waving American flag definitely added to the spookiness. The deck was at 100ft so at 110ft it was my deepest dive to date. We did one swim though that I think was a shower room, at least it looked like there were a line of toilets along the far wall. I'm not a big fan of swim thoughs, it always feels to tight and limits my ability to surface should i need to.
Then it was a relaxing swim tour of Snapper ledge which i'm getting to know very well.
I also went on my first night dive yesterday. It was to another spot I'm getting to know really well, Winch hole... It was exciting, we went down with flashlights and we saw night feeding coral and fish. The highlight was the turtles we say 2 very large ones. They are always cool to see. Really I think divers love turtles because they can do what we'd love to do, dive with out equipment and just swim.
the second half of the dive we went without lights, so we could see the bio-luminescent critters. It was a little like a planetarium then, swimming though small sparks of multi colored like it was very pretty.
Today's dives were easy and familiar, we dove fire coral cave and winch hole.
