People are so strange
So i was sleeping peacefully until 8:15 when this guy calls my cellphone from a number i don't know - 4 TIMES.
On the 5th call, i pick up the phone and have a conversation with him.
He threatens me with a civil suit against this lady i haven't spoken with in a year, and pretty much you could tell he has probably been working himself up to make this call to me. He was incredibly defensive and snappy, because for some reason he thought i wouldn't mail some paper to this woman. I guess he was expecting me to be resistant, but i was just like "um yeah sure...i'll mail it to you" and he was all like "YEAH you need to mail the paper to this address, because we're going to sue you for criminal posseession of this paper. So i was like "um, she gave me the paper and never showed up to the meeting i was supposed to return it at. Whats the story on that?" The guy gets really worked up, starts yelling at me and telling me "we're going to sue you if you don't mail the paper TODAY!"
Me: "So if you sue me, you're just going to sue me for this sheet of paper you want so badly?"
Him: "That's why we're going to sue you, because you're being so --"
Me: "Doesn't it seem like a hassle to go to court over a sheet of paper that i could just give to you?"
Him: "We understand you may be trying to steal copyrighted material so we are seeking damages --"
Me: "Its not like i want this paper, sounds like you just need to tell me where to send it."
Him: "You're just going to go ahead and mail it?"
Me: "Yes sir."
Him: [Thoughtful Silence]
Me: "Personally, i am in school to become an artist and i don't steal anyone else's work. Nobody else's work is good enough to call my own. I am offended that you would think i would put my name on something like --"
Him: "Okay so we will be looking for that in the mail, and if we don't receive it you'll be served with papers for criminal possession of the personal property of --"
Me: "Yeah, its in the mail. No problem."
Him: "Alright then. i --"
*click*
Me: "jackass"
its too damn early in the morning and now i missed out on my last 45 minutes of sleep before work. This story is to be continued when i get home from work this afternoon...
