weekend...

Back in work after another quick weekend.

I am feeling a bit overwhelmed this morning as I was in and out of the office for one reason or another all last week. (I don’t think I did even one full day at my desk!)  I’ve come back today and can’t seem to get to grips with where I am on each of my files despite having made a list…

It was a good weekend, given it started with no big plans. On Saturday me and P exchanged prezzies (Professor Layton for my DS - woo!) and waited in for the flowers he had bought me to be delivered. He had to confess to the flowers, because I had been hankering to go out and he didn’t want us to miss the delivery. In the end we found them outside the door to the flat just after lunch, as it seems the delivery people neither rang the intercom nor knocked. They were lovely though, big bright gerberas - my favourite :D I will post a photo on viki_101 later.

Due to the lateness we put off going to town until Sunday and messed around in the living room attempting to have a practice put-up of the tent so we know what to do when we go camping. Unfortunately, I had incorrectly recalled the size of the tent so I had to answer for P being squashed against the back wall of the living room holding two 25 foot poles with a face full of nylon. In the end, due to creative use of the corridor space as a place to let the poles move into, we managed to get the tent mostly up. Enough to say we know what we’re doing at least. And P wasn’t too scarred by the experience.

Saturday night we went out for a meal at the Turkish restaurant in Finchley. The food was fab as usual, but the atmosphere of the place was ruined by just how busy it was. I guess that was to be expected, but it was still a bit disappointing. As we were over that way, we asked the_greek_geek and P’s ex-housemate John with his g/f Angela out for a drink after the meal. Thesp couldn’t make it, but the John and Angela came out and we spent a few hours chatting in the pub and playing jenga. (P has since learned not to play this with me, as I have no real concept of engineering. Or gravity.)

Sunday we went for a toddle around town and then lazed on the sofa playing games and watching telly for the evening. Though the day flew by really fast considering we weren’t really doing anything.

I need my holiday!
