OneAndTwoAndOneAndTwoAnd...

I've been trying to update for a few weeks now - there are various notepad drafts saved in my email/on this computer/on my work computer, all to the effect that life is very much work & sleep and not much else currently.  (Though I have to modify this now, to say that I went out with Cat last saturday which was a welcome break from the routine I seem to be falling into).

I guess it's always a bit like this in the run up to having a break at Christmas, though given it's only mid-November it has begun a bit early for me this year.  However, I'm currently attempting to combat it by poking about for lovely Christmas presents for the few people I'm buying for and making plans for things to look forward to, like concerts and the fab camping trip next April (known to P as the camping-trip-of-frozen-woe).

Work is much the same as it was - though I am working on changing my own perspective towards it.  I have decided that my colleagues can pull faces, raise their eyebrows and make as many snarky comments as they like, but as long as they do not step up and make specific and direct complaints about my work or behaviour (which, are both in the main perfectly fine as far as i'm concerned) I am going to continue as I am and not allow them to make me feel guilty for not being as bogged down by the job as they are.  For that is all it is.  A job.  Yes I'm lucky to have it in the current climate, but I'm not going to be made miserable over it, and as talking to Cat at the weekend proved, even in the current market there are other equally good jobs available!

I know there will be frustrating/annoying/mean/incompetent people in any workplace, but I'm hopeful that any future job will have a higher ratio of nice people to lawyers  ;)

I've recently re-started my health kick too, which fell by the wayside a bit when I caught that bad cold about 6 weeks ago and lazy me failed to carry on with the exercise once I was better.  It's a shame actually because I'd stuck it out for about 7 weeks at the point of catching the cold and had begun to notice small improvements in the amount of time I could spend on the machines and being able to put them on a higher resistance level.  I've planned to start up my programme again this weekend and I've also signed up for the Sparkpeople site thanks to Cat so I can learn a bit more about what I'm eating and make healthier food choices.

Must also admit to having re-installed Oblivion and it is eating much of my evening time  - Big love for that game  :)
