I have the office to myself today as the boss-guy is out. It’s the first time in ages that I have had my whole working environment to myself and I’m not sure whether to demonstrate how disciplined I am by getting on with my work, or to take advantage of the rare occasion by relaxing and doing as much or as little as I feel like!
If I had a lot of work on, I have no doubt that I would get on with it, however being that I’ve only been in this department for 3 days, there isn’t all that much for me to be doing. So I think I will compromise by spending the day reading through some of the dept’s materials which is relaxing but still work-related. Fortunately, I can read the MCV magazine (the leading print and online games trade publication, doncha know) which this month has 4 page specials on the forthcoming Final Fantasy game for the DS and some other interesting games. I can do this, because some of the games publishers are our clients and it’s beneficial to know how their products are doing :)
It doesn’t pass the time very quickly though - so I will have to think of something else for this afternoon.

I have discovered that the drawback to the boss not being in, is that I spend a good part of the day telling his numerous visitors this.
