It’s so cold today. I’m keeping myself permanently supplied with mugs of Peppermint Tea to keep my hands warm as much as to drink it! I had to do the same on the train home from London last night too, despite not really wanting to pay train prices for a hot drink, I was so cold I couldn’t hold my book so I had to buy something!

I had a lovely weekend with P. We didn’t plan to do anything particular, just pootled around as he got a few final things sorted for Christmas and then the rest of the time just relaxing and having fun together. We laughed at so many daft things over the last 2 days, not the least the fact he discovered I have a ticklish neck and in the right mood can get the giggles off the smallest amount of prodding.  I won’t see him again until the 28th now which is the longest we’ve been apart for quite some time. It was a big wrench to let go of him at Euston last night, as it always is, but I’m trying so so hard not to dwell on it and to look forward to seeing him again instead.

Work hasn’t slowed down at all, despite it being the last full working week until the Christmas holiday. I suppose because of targets and what-not, it’s not that likely to either. The first people begin to go on leave tomorrow though, and that continues throughout the week, so the office will get quieter and quieter. I think there are only 3 of us in on the 27th! The good news we got on Friday was that the management had reconsidered the previous arrangements for Christmas, and had decided to give us the 24th and 31st off completely instead of them being half days as they were originally. That was a nice surprise and consequently I’m off for 15 days over Christmas (including weekends) nipping into work only the 27th and 28th. It works out really well, giving me a long weekend with my family and then a New Year holiday with P.

My only remaining point of stress is my internet shopping. It’s all complete but only half the parcels have arrived so far. And given that our secret santa in work is tomorrow, you’ve guessed it, the parcels with the secret santa present in are among those which have not yet been delivered. So, my first plan of sorting this is to keep everything crossed that the parcels are delivered today *please please please* However, given the relatively unlikely chance of this happening, I am preparing myself to have to pop to Borders on the way home from work tonight and buy a replacement. This also means thinking of a replacement…

I’ve got no enthusiasm for work today. I’ve got enough on to keep me busy for the week but I just can’t get started. I have got a document to work on drafting which I started (and really, should have finished) last Friday, but I write a few lines then I discover I’ve spent 10 minutes staring into space thoughtfully, but with no idea what I was thinking about! Despite this, the day is dragging. I currently most want to be back in P’s room, sat next to him on the floor at the end of his bed, wrapped up in his giant duvet playing Baldur’s Gate on the Playstation together. That was a lovely Saturday night :)

In other news, I’m loving the felt snowflakes on our office Christmas tree!
