Money&Work...

Well Tuesday night I was ready in my room by the computer for 6 o clock awaiting the call from Dell which, to cut a long and frustrating story short, never arrived.  The same pattern repeated itself last night, and I’m pretty sure I won’t hear anything from them tonight either.

So now I am left wondering exactly when they will give me my service call.

In an effort to distract myself from the computer woe I am currently trying to prepare a list of ways to save money! My first target is to reduce the outgoings related to coming to work 5 days a week - I’m quite shocked that some weeks I am spending up to £60 on what is basically travel and lunch. I am aiming to do the following…

1)      Get a year pass for the train so that I save 2 months train fare.
2)      Allocate myself £40 for the weekdays, put anything I don’t use into my savings account on Fridays. (Becomes £30 when I have sorted out the travel pass).
3)      Expensive sandwich shop max once a week
4)      One magazine a week maximum
5)      Bring packed lunch to work 2 days a week
6)      Stop buying coffee, make it from the jar in the office instead.

I can’t think of anything else at the moment, but do feel free to suggest things. I’m sure there must be a couple of other places I can cut back.

Work is very slow at the moment, I’m getting to the point where I literally have nothing to do. I have requested work a couple of times, but have now been told there is nothing appropriate to pass over to me at the moment. This wouldn’t be so bad, except for the fact that the day passes so slowly when I’m not occupied, and also I still have to record all my time for the day and I am running out of things to do that I can actually record.  Looks like tomorrow is set to be the same.
