The Week So Far

May 19, 2013 09:12

Was working quite a lot. I had all of last week and this weekend off and been very busy. In between, someone from work would call and ask if I could work--to which I declined. Finally on Wednesday night another coworker who had been busting her butt at work and happened to have scheduled herself for the same week off texted me to let me know that they had called her to work that night and she not only told them no, she would not be back until she was scheduled next week, but also to absolutely not call me as I was very busy and would also not be back until I am scheduled (which is Tuesday night). I thanked her because, yeah, I was getting tired of them calling me. The CNA coworkers needing help are certainly not as considerate of the two of us, so this week, screw them.

ETA: My phone battery had died very early this morning so after charging it, I got around to turning the phone on and discovered a voicemail asking if I could work tonight. Nope. Busy*. /ETA

I did mostly sleep and do laundry Monday and Tuesday; very early Wednesday morning was a lot of shopping: part grocery, part funeral/memorial luncheon clothes and miscellaneous shopping.

Thursday was the funeral/memorial luncheon, both of which went very well, imho.

Friday was sleeping, then to a party where I had a lot of fun.

Saturday I tried going to Motor City Comic Con, but I didn't get there until 3:00pm and as I pulled into the parking lot I saw a very long line of people waiting to get in. I turned around and drove back towards home, stopped at Michael's and bought a memorial flag case, then went next door and wandered around Bed, Bath, and Beyond. I didn't buy anything significant, just some Brookside Dark Chocolate Acai with Blueberry which is really good and a pack of plink, because, yeah, sometimes my garbage disposal smells funny and these things work. I also simply drop one in and leave it so while I am washing dishes or food, the hot water makes it give a slight fragrance.

*Anyway, today is a meeting for July's 48 Hour Film Project. After that, perhaps more shopping of some sort. I keep forgetting to buy a paper shredder and I have probably 20 years of paperwork buried amongst the storage unit crap taking up my bedroom. It's no longer freezing cold in there so it's time to start tackling that mess.
I have mostly been sleeping on an air mattress in the dining room (which is not a dining room as I have no dining furniture seeing as I sleep there) and the mattress has recently sprung a leak and I have to keep filling it so I guess I will be buying a new one. This one lasted me a year and a half of daily sleeping.

Tomorrow is an eye appointment. Finally, new glasses and contact lenses. Trying to keep my current eyeglasses taped together has been frustrating to say the least and my contacts make my eyes look like they are bleeding and they burn after a couple of hours. Trying to wear them for 12 hours at work is tiring.

Finally it's back to work Tuesday night. Fortunately, I am unit clerk Tuesday - Thursday nights which is not as ass-busting as CNA stuff.

No movie going for me which is disappointing and while I have the series 7 finale of Dr. Who downloaded, I haven't watched it yet.

cleaning, work, cna stuff, contact lenses, eyes, babble, shopping, apartment, dr. appointment, link, miscellaneous
