In other news, a Filipino nurse at work noticed my last name on my badge and got all exciting when she found out I am half Filipino. She did not really believe it because I don't have "the big, flat nose of a Filipino." (Her words) That led to a few coworkers wanting to see pictures of my father, which I happened to have some in a box in my car. During my lunch break Thursday night I went out, sorted through some and showed them, including some of my paternal grandfather, and of me taken roughly 23 years ago which also included shortly before and after my grandfather and then my father died. Sorry still no scanner, so you can't see them.
Going through the photos I remembered that I am not really half Filipino, more like 1/4 and iirc my father was half Filipino, half Russian (my paternal grandmother, I think, was Russian).
That led to questions of "How the heck old are you?!?" I tell them I am 45 years old and they all exclaim No way! and Not possible, you're lying. Followed by You don't look a day older than when these were taken!
I personally see the age in my face (and tend to feel it in my bones), but go figure.
