Can You Imagine Having Any Of Us Assist Feeding You

I was invited to meet up with some nursing assistant classmates at a bar & grill last night. Fewer people showed up than originally planned but we had a great time anyway. I warned them I was still broke, but they insisted and told me not to worry about it. Cori had the first round of beer covered:

Nicole, Lisa, Serena (someone else who knows Cori from school & joined us):

Nicole & Ruth say goodbye while Nigel the server (on the left) looks on:

Probably Nigel thought we were all nuts. We started asking him what is in shots that had names like Tampon in the Toilet, Wet Dream and Gorilla Fart. I'm guessing they are all asked that often because he patiently explained each one.

A good picture of the 3 instructors stolen from someone else. Left to right Army, Beth, Brenda:

Brenda was the classroom instructor, then Army and Beth would come into class, usually every afternoon to help with the skills demonstrations and testing. Then Army & Beth along with another woman from the nursing home were our instructors for clinicals at the nursing home.

Brenda, the classroom instructor had told us on Thursday or Friday that she was actually a bit surprised at how much the entire class bonded together. She said that of all the classes she taught (ok, not sure how many that is. There is essentially a class per month, but generally there is someone else who also teaches the class) it was very rare that she had everyone in the class bond so well (except for K. who spent as much time as she could in the restroom and then complained that having to do the skills more than once because she was doing them wrong was a complete waste of her time). For the first week and a half we all gravitated to the same seats every day. There were some skills we did at our seats like feeding each other, brushing each other's teeth, giving each other back rubs, etc. so we had the same partner for those. Nicole was my partner. On Friday when we were leaving we hugged and she thanked me for feeding her and I thanked her for brushing my teeth. Also there was a lot of side chit chat while the instructor was trying to talk.

On Wednesday of the second week the instructor made everyone change seats figuring that would make us socialize with new people but talk over her less. It didn't matter. We had all already socialized with each other plenty during the skills tests and it made people talk more. She had to obtain a bell that she started ringing every time she wanted people to be quiet. By Monday of the third week she had to resort to just telling people to shut up.

On Friday right before the mini ceremony in which we got our documents she was talking to us, but we were talking over her. She went looking for her bell but couldn't find it. At first she thought one of us had taken it and told us she wouldn't fail us if it turned up. Then she reviewed a bunch of vocabulary words on flash cards. During that time she found the bell buried on a shelf in the podium she always stood in front of.

I don't know if any of that makes sense to ya'll, but there you have it.
