THE WEEK IS OVER!!!!!!!!!!! I DON'T HAVE TO GET UP EARLY TOMORROW OR THE DAY AFTER!!!!!!!!!
*dead*
This week has felt like three weeks rolled into one, so am I ever glad it's over! I'm not sure whether my sore throat is Kimberly's fault (she's been coughing for a week) or the karaoke's fault, but either way, I don't have to talk tomorrow, so who cares?
Eda and I had planned to meet up tonight. I wavered between wanting to go get quickly drunk on half-price happy hour drinks, or singing, but singing won out. I sang in Mandarin, she sang in Korean, and then we repaired to Coco's for food. Our original plan of getting dessert was postponed because we weren't hungry anymore, so we'll have to go out to a dessert porn place soon to get our fix. Mmm, delicious desserts...
Here are the daily memes. Incredibly, the month is almost over! How did that happen?!
Day 26 - What's your favourite/least favourite train line?
Trains have always been a subject of wonder for me, and the train network in the Kanto area is so intricate and vast that I bought a map of it and hung it up on my wall. Each time I get to go on a new line, I get a little thrill, and think that maybe I should start a list of all the lines I've been on.
For the first year and a half I lived in Tokyo, the Ginza line was the line I lived and worked nearest, and I still affectionately think of it as "my" subway line. Since I moved out west, I'm closest to the Inokashira line, which I also like. It's not very long, and it seems friendly and unpretentious, and the express gets you very quickly from Kichijouji to Shibuya. I can also consider myself a Chuo/Sobu girl, but that line is so busy and impersonal that while I don't have anything against it, it doesn't truly feel like it's mine.
As for my least favourite line, that's easy: the Hibiya line. I used to have a tutoring gig in Hiroo, so had to take the Hibiya line every week, and I soon came to the conclusion that it's the most inconvenient line ever. It goes nowhere interesting except for Ginza and Ueno, and those are the only places where it connects to other lines worth taking. Even so, at Ueno, it doesn't even directly intersect with the Ginza line (though both are Tokyo Metro lines!), and you have to go out the ticket gates and walk about 150m to get to it.

Day 26 - Your fears
My fears are mostly emotional: losing loved ones, being betrayed by those I trust, losing the trust of someone I care about. They're not things that [usually] keep me up at night, but sometimes, when I feel the world is a dark and lonely place, they make me want to cry.
I don't fear things such as insects or certain animals. Cockroaches and earwigs disgust me, sure, but they don't scare me. When I was little, I was afraid of dogs, but that was mostly because where I lived, dogs tended to be large, and there were many who had wolf blood in them -- definitely not fluffy little lap dogs. I'm not afraid of heights, either, or of water (though I'm not a very good swimmer at all), nor am I afraid of flying, though I don't particularly enjoy being in an airplane.
