he has definitely come up sore in his hind end. even little emily (the teenager) told me to get his left hind checked out & i totally couldn't see it myself. that's why i love keeping a blog & keeping records of things so people can help me see stuff i just can't.
the birds are pretty crazy, and they're HUGE. i shoud take some photos for you, they're just mad. and the flies are notorious in this area. very very very bad. beej has always been ocd about them, but i think with his pain issue he's focusing in on them more than he ordinarily would. idk if that entirely makes sense, but i know if i'm in a bad mood or sick, any little change with my body (like an itch in my toe) can become a fucking disaster.
he's really a good boy not to toss me off with how bad he must be feeling. i'm pretty lucky to have such a nice horse. he's been telling me for a while that he's not right & i've not been listening very well at all. with our history it's easy to get too emotional about things, so that's why my instructor & LJ and various other sources are so helpful in improving us.
i love the new saddle too, i feel so secure in it. it locks me in a bit & i feel i throw myself forward a bit at the hips. i haven't done much real riding in it yet so hopefully once i'm more settled (and my poor broken pony is fixed) i'll improve further. i'm amazed at how much deeper i'm sitting.
