i've been such a bad mama to beej lately.

started back at work proper & the days are getting shorter so i've stopped visiting mid-week. he gets fed by others on Tues/wed/thurs & no work or anything.

it's been hot & i've been lazy. this friday i had the quiz night so i just played some games with him. Today i had 4 days of horsepoo to pick up AND one of the poobags (chaff bags full of poo that i leave in the sun to self-compost) split open so had to clean that up too. AND had to organise feeds after racking up a nice $122 bill from the feedstore YET again.
i just clear one then rack up another! any tips on that?

beej spent the afternoon in the spare paddock grazing & getting carrots chucked at him sporadically. BUT i have sorted poos & food, so it's all good.

today i stocked up on Lucerne Chaff, Oaten Chaff, Kind & Kool (pollard/bran/lupin pellet), crushed Lupins, black sunflower seeds & fly spray. fuck me.

started feeding the Crushed Lupins instead of barley - ive been reading on the other forum that lupins are better & less heating... so we'll see.

he's been in a Summer Sheet for the last week, and i must say it has done wonders for his coat. he just looks super ratty and naggy with no rug - even just on for 1 day and his coat's improved a million$$. temps are set to rise this week, so he may have to go nekkid or with his fly sheet on. he is DEFINITELY getting clipped this year & i'm going to start rugging him early on.

we played a few games today (not much, just enough to say, "HEY") and he grazed the rest of the time. we did go for a small walk down the back & came across a kangaroo. he barely batted an eye - he did grow a hand tho and had a good look, but did not fuss about it, which is so great. he had a bit of a shy later on, but i just circled him and let him relax in the spot where he was scared & he promptly sighed out & started eating, which was great.

hopefully will get to spend a bit of time with him tomorrow. my friend Christine is sposed to be coming up, but i don't care either way.

beejay, parelli, pony stuff
