Running through LJ with a quick stop to say Whooo Hoooo
Ooops, looking at the recent post calendar, I have fallen down considerably on my post goals this week. Work and the other blog were the squeakier wheels though…mostly work…oh, and also Thanksgiving prep.
So, about work, here is a quick drive by post with good, good news. We get annual merit increases. They are not huge, but they exist and, especially right now, knowing what the economic situation is like in most industries I can appreciate how big a deal this is. I am, once again, so very, very grateful to have landed here in my job search. Post secondary education rocks!
Even better though, my boss is a hardcore believer that he has high expectations of what we are supposed to be doing in the first place so earning anything beyond a “meets expectations” is rare and take serious work. Given this, I expected to receive the average increase and would have been grateful for it. He gave me slightly higher than that though and I am just over the moon about it, knowing what this means in terms of earning his respect and how he feels about the quality of my work.
*serious happy dance* This is but one more reason why I love, love, love my job!
