It's been fairly amusing watching her attempt to be friendly now we have to interact, both of us knowing full well she's been a bit of a cow for going on 12 months.

I bet it is. I hope you at least got in a sharp comment or two?

I get that: That's my style, what I do is to be nice and polite, even if someone is nasty, in part because I don't wish to be nasty and make things worse, and because I hold politeness to a value; but in part, I must admit, to my shame, that sometimes I am nice to someone who is nasty in an attempt to "guilt" them, which I realise is passive aggressive and childish.

Suppose I'll have to admit to slightly passive aggressive motives too. That and maintaining a feeling of superiority. So much for keeping my hands clean eh?
