She runs to the car and looks through the broken window. "Erica!"
The other woman is slumped down over the steering wheel and Juliet reaches in to check for a pulse. She's relieved to find one, then carefully opens the door and reaches over to turn off the vehicle.
"Erica, can you hear me?" It's a little weird to see her near clone bloody and unconscious, but she can't focus on it. She looks at the damage, a cut on her forehead, but the way she hit the steering wheel - the damn air bag didn't go off - has Juliet concerned. Putting her hands around Erica's neck, Juliet keeps it as still as possible as she leans her back into the seat again.
The other woman's breathing is ragged and shallow, and Juliet needs to get her out of the car. She has to get her out of the car. And she can hear sirens already. Trying to think as a doctor first and a friend later, Juliet makes an executive decision and as carefully as she can pulls Erica out of her car before running back to Joshua and throwing open the passenger side door.
"I need..." she opens the glove compartment and starts rummaging. She comes back out with hand sanitizer, a pocket knife, and a ziplock baggie. She's gone again without saying anything else and pulls open Erica's shirt, hoping the woman doesn't care about modesty in lieu of saving her life.

The poor man nods, not realizing what's about to happen.
Pouring hand sanitizer all over her hands, Erica's chest, and the pocket knife, Juliet opens the knife up and grips it in her fist. Now the man starts panicking. "Jesus Christ lady, what are you doing?" Juliet ignores him, and after running her fingers along a spot on Erica's body, forces the knife into her chest. Pulling it out quickly, she pushes the bag over her chest and the woman's breathing starts to come back to normal.
"Hold the bag," she tells the man. "Whatever you do, don't let go of it until the paramedic tells you to." She waits until he nods, then runs to another car to help anyone else who might be hurt. Eventually she makes her way back to Erica though, the medics taping down the bag. She tells them that she did it, that she had to make a decision and that yes, she was a doctor.
When they wheel her away, Juliet stands there, adrenaline still pumping, but as news reporters start to set up camp, she makes her way quickly to the car, because the last thing she needs is her face all over the t.v.

He watches Juliet make a timely retreat just as the media vehicles are arriving. Traffic is slowly starting to clear up as damaged vehicles are pushed to the side. As she gets closer, he jumps out of the car and into the driver side. He motions for her take the passenger side, the door still open for her. Probably the last thing she wants to do is get Erica's blood all over the steering wheel.

"If they can get her into surgery quickly she should be okay. But they have to get her to the hospital now." She's eying the ambulance as she speaks, and suddenly it's leaving and she sighs again. "She's going to be okay."
Wiping off her hands she looks over at him and she has to say it. "It's not us this time. That's new."

"Scary in an incredible way," he's adding as they're waved forward by a traffic cop. "She's going to owe you again," he adds after a moment's thought.

"Well, she just has to babysit any time we want now," she says with a little smile. Twisting back, she looks at the sleeping kids. "I can't believe they didn't even wake up."

When she mentions the kids, he glances into the rearview mirror for a moment. "Not a peep." He smiles at her comment that Erica will have to babysit any time they want. It reminds him of those favors Hobbes had been counting. He doubts the man has forgotten them.

"Daddy, the aminals..."
Juliet smirks, carefully pulling Jonah out of his car seat.

He unbuckles her and pulls her out of her car seat too. "Which one was your favorite?"

Liz rests her head on Joshua's shoulder, one hand resting on the back of his neck and the thumb of her other hand in her mouth.
"Elpants. And bearfs." Her eyes close; she's very nearly asleep again as they talk.

The wonderful thing about Jonah is that he'll lay quiet, he won't cry at all unless he needs to be fed or changed. Laying back, she nestles him on her chest and runs her fingers lightly over the top of his head. And when she hears Joshua, she looks up. "She asleep?"

"Erica's good," he says, stepping out of his shoes.

"I miss it sometimes. Practicing, I mean."

"I'd miss it," he replies as he heads to the bathroom to brush his teeth.
A few minutes later and he's climbing into bed next to her. "I'd miss it, but then I was born for the medical life."
