Our conversations next semester:
"Alison, I think I'm going to go buy milk."
"What kind of milk?"
"Nonfat milk from the corner store."
"You know, if you walked a little further, the milk might be cheaper."
"But will the quality of the milk change? Because I'm concerned about the flavor of my cereal next week."
"Well, I milk may only last that long if it really desires to."
"Yes, let's overanalyze milk."
(ok, that was an exaggeration.)
Seriously though love? Distance yourself from them. You are putting so much of your energy into their volatile combination. Take care of Alison. Yeah, they're excessive. But you know what? The best thing you can do for someone living in excess is to let them go. Back away slowly. Otherwise, you are enabling them in a way. Let me explain. So, their drinking/whathaveyou is unberable to people they know. The people they know remain around them. They never get to that realization that their life in excess is causing problems to others. And the cycle continues.
Off my soapbox now. I'm around, when i'm not harry-pottering, so if you want to vent, I'm your gal (well, clearly livejournal's your gal).

i needed to vent about it in order to let it go. purge. unburden myself. be completely honest with myself so i could sort out the demons and moooooove along.
(yes, i am a HUGE virgo and YOU LOVE IT!!!)
and honestly? today feels like a whole new beginning and it's wonderful. COMPOUNDED by the fact that our housing came to fruition today.
i love you for so many reasons, and one of them clearly being keeping me sane. ohhh what would i do without you? you barraiser, you.

Thank god I'm on the cusp, because seriously we would be overanalyzing what kind of milk to buy. Alf, you and I will one day criticize the world for spinning in a direction we're not quite sure we like... Ah the joy and curse that is virgo-ism.
