Lurking the Halls (8/?)

Daniel looks perfectly human. This means absolutely nothing.
He isn't accustomed to being this hungry. He can only guess at how well he ate back on Earth, but in Wonderland his board has always been amply provided for, so the sudden pangs of what honest-to-God feels like starvation are a shock to his system. Specifically, they've been shocking his system for what's now more than two whole days.
He's found himself rationalising. He's already in a place full of magic and evil and strangeness. Death is not the obstacle it should be. Hell, drinking blood needn't even be to the death. A man might be bled and yet survive. But what kind of monster would he be then, if he is not one already by virtue of having died and been reborn?
His thoughts have pulled him out into the corridors of the mansion, where he wanders restlessly.
