Dear Yuletide author

Under the cut, for length and ridiculousness.

In general, the things you should know are: happy endings, unless it's post-apocalyptic (which I do enjoy), but I still like to have some glimmer of hope. Straight-up angst does almost nothing for me. Stories that focus on characters and interactions rather than straight-up plot. Doctor Who crossovers (no, really, find a way to mix in Doctor Who and I am yours for LIFE). Continuations of canon - I do like missing scenes, but I like knowing what comes after what we've seen more. I mostly love things for the tone the canon has - ridiculous, surreal, gritty, what have you. And finally, I will like whatever you write for me. Please just have fun with it - it's what Yuletide's all about!

And now for my requests!

Pushing Daisies
I just WANT with this fandom. They tied everything up admirably, considering they got canceled, but what next? How did the Aunts react to Chuck? Did they take her on their two world tours? What about Olive and Randy Mann and the Intrepid Cow? How did Emerson's daughter find him? Did Emerson ever team back up with his Itty-Bitty? Will the Norwegians ever come back? And will Ned and Chuck ever find a way to touch each other? Will they ever tell Olive about Ned's abilities? And what about Chuck's dad? I JUST WANT TO KNOW.

*deep breath* Sorry, this show just gives me a lot of feelings. Tell me whatever headcanon you have, or whatever story interests you the most. Backstory, future story, missing scene, whatever. I will say that I am far more interested in the characters than in the mysteries, although I do love the coroner.

This candy-colored world full of death just fascinates me with its contradictions and whimsy. I would love for any fic you might write reflect this, especially as it corresponds to Aunts Lily and Vivian. I love them an unhealthy amount.

The Middleman (TV)
I just want to say that I love Lacy and Wendy and their dynamic. Baking cookies, saving the world, kicking ass, snuggling, fighting, playing Gutwrencher 3, making out, whatever. I love them. Of course, I also love Noser and his ventriloquism, and the Middleman and his milk, and Ida's grumpiness, and basically everyone ever, but I especially love those two.

Perhaps Lacy finally has to find out what Wendy's job really is? Or, if you're feeling adventurous, a crossover with Doctor Who, so that there are two psuedonymed adventurers with a taste for the wholesome (especially since episode 11 had that reference to 'Mr. Lethbridge-Stewart - IT'S PRACTICALLY CANON). What I really love about this show, though, is the wacky style/tone it's got going on, so you can have them basically doing anything as long as you hold to that - a trip to Comic-Con, Lord of the Rings movie marathon, sentient computer virus, whatever you like.

Just as it says on the tin - write me anything. Like Pushing Daisies, the tone here matters a lot. The Middleman is much more straight-up silly, rather than silly/serious, but there is room for anything you want to write. I also think Lacy would make an excellent accidental O2STK agent, if you need any more ideas after that brain vomit up there.

Black Books  (Franz Katzenjammer, Manny Bianco, Bernard Black)
Ok, so, Bernard Black is kind of my spirit animal. His life is the life I would like to lead - yes, including the monstrous hangovers and sticky bookshop. I love Manny's put-upon attitude, and FRAN, man, I love Fran. Give me a story with those three and some ridiculous happenstance - alien invasion (you might have noticed that I like Doctor Who), the book shop is suddenly flooded with gelatin, Manny accidentally ships Bernard to Norway, ANYTHING. I just enjoy the way those three try to confront the world and often fail at it.

1) You can watch series 1 here, and I'm sure the rest are up on Youtube somewhere. 2)There's nothing else I can say to convey how much I love this series, so have some gifs.

Lilo & Stitch (2002) (Lilo Pelekai)
I want to know what Lilo is like as an adult. With a childhood like that, there's no way she grows up 'normal.' What influence does Stitch have on her? Does she go into science because of all the alien tech she's around, or does she end up writing children's books about cuddly aliens that can defeat the monsters under your bed? Or does she end up working for the CIA or the United Galactic Federation? Or do she and Stitch become space adventurers? I just want that little girl with no friends to grow up to be the most awesome adult ever.

I am a sucker for weird kids growing up to lead AWESOME (or at least happy) lives - see my Yuletide story from last year for proof - so that's basically what I want. I just want Nani and Lilo to get to understand each other, and for Lilo to have a fulfilling life. Or, you know, space piracy. Whatever makes you happy.

I hope this letter is helpful to you. I have a bad habit of rambling on, so I apologize for that, but remember - just have fun with it! I will see you on January first, when I will shower you with love.

yuletide, i am a ridiculous human
