I have mirrorball shoes :D They are truly beautiful. I'd take a picture, but my crappy phone camera would not do them justice. So you'll just have to imagine how wonderful they are. I've not actually taken them outside yet (unless you count going to check the postbox, which is a whole two steps away from the door to the building) and I'm slightly nervous to because of it being winter and all leafy and muddy. But I'm off down to The Bridge for the first of the year's Filmsoc film quizzes later, and these babies are definately coming too. If only so I can spend all evening going "Look at mah SHOES! They REFLECT!"
Of course, I'll just get many non-understanding looks, because I'm going with the lads XD I highly doubt they'll understand the beauty of mirrorball shoes. But never mind, I understand the beauty enough for the whole campus XD
Our outing to tonight's quiz is sort-of in honour of my birthday, but only sort of. As far as I'm concerned it's my birthday celebration because I really don't plan to do anything on Monday, but meh. Felt excited at the prospect of birthdayness for the first time today when I checked the post and found two envelopes addressed to me (well, three, but the third was train tickets) which I cannot open yet. They have been stashed with the others in my wardrobe. Waiting for monday when I will become old. Old to my mind anyway; NINETEEN. Scary stuff. Means I'll have been a legal adult for an entire year. Which is even scarier.
I really ought to go and read some of Wide Sargasso sea, but I can't be bothered at this moment in time. I think that I have the entire flat to myself until Sunday, because I think everyone else has gone home for the weekend. I know three of them have; that only leaves two flatmates unaccounted for. I'm sure they're still alive. Probably.
