Something from The Prophet book that i think is interesting

Okay, now that i've told people that i am writing a live journal, i don't want to hear any "is Dawnn okay" or anyone freaking out on me. With that being said i was reading this book that an friend had given me years back. (it's always fun going back to old books later to see how you've changed), The Prophet, Kahlil Gibran. It's very cool and insightful and i just want to share this part that i had stumbled upon, it's something to think about and read a few times:

And the old priest said, Speak to us of Religion. And he said: Have I spoke this day of aught else?
Is not religion all deeds and all reflection, and that which is neither deed nor reflection, but a wonder and a surprise ever springing in the soul,
even while the hands hew the stone or tend the loom?
Who can separate his faith from his actions, or his belief from his occupations?
Who can spread his hours before him, saying, "This for God and this for myself;
This for my soul, and this other for my body?"
All your hours are wings that beat through space from self to self.
He who wears his morality but as his best garmet were better naked.
The wind and the sun will tear no holes in his skin.
And he who defines his conduct by eithics imprisions his song-bird in a cage.
The freest song comes not through bars and wires.
And he to whom worshipping is a window, to open but also to shut, has not yet
visited the house of his soul whose windows are from dawn to dawn.
Your daily life is your temple and your religion.
Whenever you enter into it take with you your all.
Take the plough and the forge and the mallet and the lute,
The things you have fashioned in necessity or for delight.
For in revery you cannot rise about your achievements nor fall lower than your failures.
And take with you all men:
For in adoration you cannot fly higher than their hopes nor humble yourself lower than their despair.
And if you would know God be not therefore a solver of riddles.
Rather look about you and you shall see Him playing with your children.
And look into space; you shall see Him walking in the cloud, outstretching His arms
in the lightning and descending in rain.
You shall see Him smiling in flowers, and then rising and waving His hands in trees.

I watched television when i was in L.A last weekend at the hotel. I watched Sex in the City for the first time, 2x in a row.
One of the episodes made me think how people get so cought up that they push out or like, don't take time for the smaller things in life.
Or is that just NYC. Anyway, i doubt it. So i thought of how i hate poetry. Then i thought that meant maybe i should read some.
With an open mind, i just don't like it because it's emotional.
Emotions aren't that bad, better to have them i realize later on in life. I guess. Well, not getting into that.
Anyway. So, i break out this book that i stashed that i thought i hated, to find out there are some amazing, beautiful things written in it.
Although, i am not quite sure that it is poetry.
Regardless, it's cool.
Someone gave it to me because he thought that everything that i talked about sounded like the book.
That was 3 years ago, but anyway.

If anyone has any input, feel free. (besides Joshua making a religious comment)

Maybe this could be fun.
It's like a big ichat, not really like a journal!
Cause god knows i wouldn't post my real journal. You guys would think i'm nuts.
Anyway. That's it for now.
Later.
Dawnn
