Monday Night, San Francisco

Aunt Paige had Chris in one arm, her free hand holding Wyatt's, as she orbed into Grandpa Victor's apartment. "Hey," she said. Piper and Phoebe were there as well.

"What the hell is going on?" Victor demanded.

Wyatt clutched the large manila envelope in his hands, looking at his mother in confusion. He wasn't sure what was going on, but he could sense it wasn't good.

Piper took the envelope from her son. "Thank you, sweetie," she said.

"Is the guest bedroom that way?" Paige asked.

"Uh, yeah," Victor said.

"Come on, baby," Paige said, taking Wyatt's hand again. She led him down the hall to the bedroom. Chris was fussing, so she let go of Wyatt's hand to turn her attention to calming him down.

Wyatt moved to the door, peering out to the living room. Aunt Phoebe and his mother were talking to Grandpa. "Look, Dad, we're running out of time," Phoebe said. "And there's no gentle way to break this to you, so I'm just gonna say it. We're in some serious trouble."

"What kind of trouble?" Victor said.

"The kind of trouble we can't get out of," Piper answered. She knelt in front of her father's chair and handed him the envelope. "In here is the deed to P3 and the house, already signed, our bank accounts, power of attorney, and the schedule for the boys."

"Hold on," Victor said. "What are you talking about? I'm not gonna take that."

"Dad, you have to," Phoebe said. "We need you to. You're all we have."

"We can't explain everything right now," Piper continued. "You just need to know this is our only way out. It's our only choice. Please, for them?"

"I don't understand," Victor said. "Are you saying I'm never gonna see you
again?"

"No," Phoebe said, moving closer to give her father a hug. "Never say never. Not in this family."

Paige pulled Wyatt away from the door. "Come on, honey," she said. "Come play with me and Chris."

Frowning, Wyatt did as he was told, settling on the floor with the toys that Grandpa kept for him and Chris. After a few minutes, his mother and other aunt came into the room.

"Hey," Piper said.

"Hey," Paige responded. "How'd it go?"

"As well as can be expected," Phoebe said wearily.

"You know we're doing the right thing," Paige said.

"I hope so," Piper said. She knelt in front of Wyatt. "Hey, baby, can I see you for two seconds? Come here, come here. Just two seconds. Come here. Come here." She stood Wyatt up and looked him in the eyes. "Listen..I want you to know that mommy will always be close, okay? I will always be with you. Okay, give me a hug. Quick, quick, quick." She hugged her oldest son close. "I love you so much," she said.

"We have to go, you guys," Phoebe said reluctantly.

"Okay," Piper said. To Wyatt, she added, "Be a good boy." She let go of Wyatt and turned to Chris. "Baby, come here," she said, taking him in her arms. "Be a good boy for Grandpa, okay? Please, sweet baby?" She hugged him and kissed his forehead, then carried him over to the crib and set him down.

Paige stood up and moved by Phoebe. Piper joined her sisters. "Let's just get this over with," she said, and the three women vanished in a swirl of white and blue lights.

Wyatt stared sadly at the place where they had stood and started to cry.

When Wyatt woke up, he felt inexplicably sad for some reason. The fuzzy impressions of his childhood faded quickly, much as he tried to hold on to them.

He let his head drop back on his pillow with a sigh. He was probably just feeling weird about leaving San Francisco tomorrow to go to school in Fandom with Chris. Things were changing so fast in his life. First there'd been the car accident that would've killed him and Chris if that weird blue shield hadn't sprung up to protect them. Then they'd gone up into the locked-and-off-limits attic and found "The Book of Shadows," all about witches and demons and magic stuff. And when they'd confronted their grandfather about it, Victor had confessed that their mother and aunts had been witches, and their father had been a "whitelighter," some sort of angel. And that the boys had powers, powers their mother had bound before she died when they were young.

So now Victor was sending them to this "Fandom" to learn how to use them. Changing schools in the middle of the year wasn't something he was looking forward to, but learning to use his powers? Way cool. There'd been stuff in the Book of Shadows about him being "the Twice-Blessed Child" or something, and he was eager to figure out what that meant.

Tomorrow he and Chris had an early morning flight to Fandom. Tomorrow he'd start on his magical destiny.

He just hoped there were hot girls there.
