Y'know, every now and then I remember I still have an account here.
Almost never use it, of course.
Oddly enough, tonight I happened on a LJ-group that came into being for the purpose of communicating on the up-coming Dark City Fest in Edinburgh 2006. Probably like many other folks, I've been to gigs or played gigs in places long since forgotten or no longer venues. It was nice to discover where I went to one particular gig in Edinburgh, since we travelled up from London to cheer on a friend all the way from Austria (November 2009 as it happens). Who'd have known I'd move up to Edinburgh five years later?
I still haven't tracked down where RBN played a one-day fest in Edinburgh back in very early 2003, but apologies to anyone still traumatised by our shoddy performance.
Talking of shoddy performances, I still intend getting my act together to inflict music upon folks. Really I keep saying that every year, but I do intend to sort myself out on that front. Still haven't managed to get back to karate, but with all the things I want to do, an actual job is getting in the way of it. It certainly doesn't fund anything much! Still, we shall see. This year I can excuse myself a bit - family berevments do wipe out all other plans.
But, I actually got out to a gig the other night! Woo! All thanks to a late ticket offer from
pat_bate_man who no doubt uses LJ less than even myself. Bumped into fellow non-LJ user
ladykomachi briefly too. As it turned out, Fields of the Nephilim were as solid as ever, and I wasn't too groggy the following morning at work. Even the drive to/from Glasgow wasn't bad.
