Letters From Yore - Part 2

Apr 16, 2009 09:46

Dear,

How are you my dear? It was really nice to talk to you online the other day. I find that no matter how many times we communicate during a given week I am always left wanting more. I must report a piece of good news: I just got the job at Northwestern Mutual!!! This is a huge weight off my shoulders. Now I need to find a place to live and a car to drive. It also means that I have to start saving some money so I can start to spend money on this whole process. I also have to find a person or people to live with. I'm not going to be able to live with Ajay, which I am very disappointed about because we get along really well and have a lot of the same interests and beliefs. Hopefully I can get a place that is close to work and also not too far away from you. I that when I write something like the last sentence that it isn't too much for you or that I'm looking too far into the future. I'm also sorry I missed your call the other day. Next time you're thinking about calling me, give me a heads up so I can clear my schedule and prepare questions and answers along with some talking points. But seriously, let me know so I don't miss your call again. Needless to say that I was extremely distraught when I saw that I had missed your call by a mere four minutes. I did get your voice mail though and I'm glad that you do enjoy these little notes of mine that I submit to you; write me back and give me feedback on everything that I have talked about on these pages. I'm happy to hear though that you find my letters fun. I guess that means that I'm doing something right when I put ink to paper. Have you read any good books lately? I haven't had a chance to read one in ages and that is a little frustrating for me. On the other hand, I'm sure that I will have better chances of reading that the end of the semester and after I get out of Wheaton. By the time you get this I'll probably be drunk in Puerto Rico and working on my tan. I think that I'm going to spend most of my time there either on my own or drinking with a select few teammates. I'm looking forward to the time alone there so I can gather my thoughts and recharge my batteries and maybe I'll be able to put with my teammates for the rest of the year. I wonder if I'll miss that part of my life a year or so from now. Maybe I'll be too wrapped up in my work to notice or maybe I'll be enjoying life too much to really care or think back to this year. I remember when I was a freshman and how I loved hearing stories of the track team's shenanigans from years past. Now I'm where there were and it feels weird sometimes. You don't notice it at first, but every once in a while I catch myself in the middle of a story and just mile at how things have changed over the years. It just seems all so odd to me looking back. I think it's finally starting to sink in that I'm going to graduate in two and one-half months from now. Scary thought. No more. NEXT!!!
