146: Halloween's Kiss ~ cherryblossom hime
Note - Here is day two of Halloween Week, and I'll be posting a fanfic that is over 50,000 words today too.
Title: Halloween's Kiss
Name: Hinamori Momo and Hitsugaya Toshiro
Suethor: cherryblossom hime
Rating: Soifon
Pairings: Toshiro/Momo
Appearance: Like they are in canon, except, they are all the same age and they happen to be in high school.
Background: This is a high school AU, where Toshiro and Momo are in the same grade as each other. They have been dating for some time and Toshiro invites her to the Halloween dance. “Hinamori opened it to find a silver necklace with peach, watermelon, snowflakes, and peach blossom flower charms on it.”
Sue Qualifications: There is a physical age difference between Toshiro and Momo is tossed aside, and Ichigo ends up being the childhood friend of Momo, making it so that Toshiro and Momo never knew each other growing up. The nicknames are taken out of their original context and used despite the fact they both hate them in the Bleach canon. The watermelon becomes a useless symbol for the two of them, because of the fact they didn't know each other as children. And then there is the fact that Momo is wearing a Vampire Princess costume, which... really doesn't fit her personality. I am also left wondering how much research was done about the Japanese school system and culture, because this fanfic reflects a definite lack of research.
Annoying Attributes: I know for a fact, some people think that an AU means you can do whatever you want to do. Thus, the AU becomes prime material for pairings that have actual problems like Hitsuhina does, like the fact that Toshiro and Momo grew up as brother and sister, or the fact that their physical age is difference. However, AU doesn't mean you can change these things, unless you actually put some planning into it, which many of these fanfics don't.
This particular fanfic, is also supposed to be a side one-shot for a longer fanfic that this writer once had on the site. There is an indication that the fanfic was removed either because it broke site rules, or because the writer realized it had problems and they thus ended up removing it. Aka, “Your Life and Mine” isn't on their profile anymore, and it may be because it was a chapter song fic that got reported.
Oh... and there are author's notes slammed into the fanfic and I think it is funny that Toshiro dressed up in a Vampire Princess costume because of the fact I equated rabid Hitsuhina fans as being the Twihards of the Bleach fandom.

"Have a fun vacation class, and don't go doing anything naughty!" Matsumoto Rangiku winked. The bell had rang and everyone was making a hasty get away. They had an early release for Halloween.
Momo stood at her desk, packing her stuff, humming a soft Halloween tune to herself. She didn't notice Toushiro come from behind her when….
"Ah ha ha ha! Sh-Shiro Chan!" She squeaked from laughter. His fingers were tickling her sides. "S-Sto-p-p!" She tried to say through giggles and laughter.
"Bed-wetter, what do you want to do today for Halloween?" He asked casually. He slid his arm around her waist, hugging her to him. He lay his head on her shoulder. (A/N: He is still behind her.)
Hinamori blushed. She always did around him. However, she didn't ignore the nickname.
"Mou! Shiro-Chan! Don't use that nickname!" She whimpered. When they started dating, they had come up with nicknames for each other, and when he couldn't find her one, Ichigo spilled one of her childhood secrets that she had wet the bed a couple of times. Ever since, Toushiro has called her that.
"Only when you call me by my first name bed-wetter." He whispered into her ear. His hot breath on her skin made her skin tingle in delight. Hinamori smiled.
"Never." She whispered. Toushiro grunted playfully then let go of Momo. He began to help her pack her things.
Toushiro and Momo walked out of the school building and he caught her hand and squeezed it lightly. She squeezed back.
As they walked hand in hand, girls from Toushiro's fanclub eyed her like a hawk, shooting her deathly glares. She learned not to mind them though after Toushiro told her not to worry about them.
The two began to head to Hinamori's apartment. Toushiro always walked her home and quite often would spend a lot of time there. Of course they never did anything more than just making out.
"Hey Momo, you never answered my question; what are you doing for Halloween?" Toushiro asked with a frown evident on his face.
