I finally got the skirt done!
I'd been working on the skirt for about 25 hours
at this point. Little did I know how much more needed to be done! Final count put it at about 60 hours of work, not counting time selecting fabrics, threads, and buttons. That is about 10 times longer than I've spent on any single sewing project. Oh, I've spent 100+ hours on crochet projects, but not on sewing projects. But I decided to do the skirt I *wanted*, not the skirt that would be the *easiest* or *quickest*. I managed to get it done in time to wear to Thanksgiving/Christmas dinner with my family, so that was pretty cool.
Note: Yeah, yeah, my photography leaves a lot to be desired. There's no sun outside, and lighting is neither great or even in the house, so this is best I could do.
So yes, a-line skirt, with full lining, waistband with button closure, zipper in back, vents in front, decorative buttons & top-stitching, label, the whole shebang.

The back, with the zipper open -- also probably the truest match to the actual color of the fabric
It took a while to decide on the color, style & size of the topstitching I wanted.

My favorite detail, hands-down
